Serve as advisory committee on buildings and capital improvements to Father James. Update and maintain the Parish master plan. Oversee construction/preconstruction requirements and design. Oversee building or construction projects. Implement a system to gather input and ideas from Parish Community. Understand general building codes and requirements.
Father James and Roberta Arquilla are very fortunate to have several experienced and talented parishioners on the committee.
The parish building committee is in session. They are meeting and advising Father James on two issues.
The first is to review plans and proposals from West Coast Housing Partners, the developer who plans to build homes on the south side of the church property. The church has an agreement with West Coast Housing that allows limited access to church property in return for certain improvements they will do for us.
The second issue the committee is working on is planning a new parish hall. Above you will find a video of the project and the rendering is the view from the church looking south. The new facility includes a large parish hall, a kitchen, meeting rooms, and some administrative offices. Bishop Barnes approved our design plans in November 2016, and we received permission to begin a Capital Campaign in March, 2017. The Capital Campaign committee is in the process of formation.
We are extremely excited, as the new facility will permit us to broaden the depth and scope of our ministries, which to date, have been hampered by constraints of space. We hope and trust that you are as thrilled about this project as we are.
